What has happened in Ukraine?

Crimea

Crimea is originally a Ukrainian sovereign area, which 8 years ago, Russia annexed. Russia also invaded the Donbas region of Ukraine. Since then, Russia has applied continued pressure to destabilize and intimidate Ukraine.

Invasion

On February 24th, Russia commenced its large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Putin used airforce, artillery and rockets. Various cities have been heavily bombed, war crimes committed and fighting has been taking place across the entire country.

Help

The war in Ukraine has resulted in civilian casualties and a complete disruption of Ukrainian society. Already several million people have fled the country and this number is growing daily. These people need help and protection.

Project in Haarlem

Who are we

Rasom means “together” in Ukrainian. In February 2022, RASOM started as a large-scale fundraising initiative for Ukraine, initiated by our founder, Dutch-Ukrainian Anna Roelofs-Ivanchenko, in response to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Since then, the foundation has evolved from a fundraising effort into a vibrant social hub.
At our current location in the center of Haarlem, we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for Ukrainian refugees from the Haarlem region, facilitating their successful integration into their new surroundings. We organize a wide array of activities: from language courses and creative activities to mental support, practical aid and informational seminars. Most of all, we provide a warm and welcoming environment in which our hundreds of visitors feel at home and supported.
Simultaneously, we actively seek connections with local Haarlem volunteers, residents, other aid organizations, and local businesses, organizing events for the entire local community.

RASOM team is trained in recognizing Human Trafficking situations and has certificates of Emergency Responder Officers.

As a volunteer

By donating

You can also make a donation to support our activities. In the past period, we have sent many trucks full of donations to impacted communities in Ukraine.
At this moment, due to new regulations in Ukraine, we can only accept donations in cash. We will use these donations to provide emergency support in Ukraine and to support our activities for Ukrainian refugees in the Haarlem region. Exhibitions

At the new RASOM location we will hold art exhibitions by Ukrainian artists. All the proceeds from the donations will be used to help Ukraine.
